Chloe | Dancer in the Park | Walpole, MA

I must admit I always get a little giddy when a prospective client inquires and tells me they are a dancer! There is something about the pose, elegance and confidence that I’ve always admired when photographing such athletes.

I am not a dancer myself; sure I did the whole tap, ballet, jazz thing when I was a kid, but I ended up doing other sports as I got older. But I do know how to find gorgeous light and work with dancers to capture that pose that I was just describing.

What I love about this session is first of all, Chloe is not a senior. Most of my clients will wait until their senior year to take photos of their interests. Chloe is only in the 8th grade but fell in love with some images I had posted a while back from a shoot in Central Park, NYC. Second of all, we did our best to recreate that look in a local park with Chloe’s personal touch on it all. I love how she stands out in contrast to the dull New England background this time of year.

While I was bundled up during this shoot, Chloe sported her thin leotard and tights (this shoot was in the beginning of December!). ¬†She kept asking why we didn’t do it in the summer months! Certainly the overall look is completely different and I have to say I love both equally!

Thanks for enduring the cold, Chloe, and for choosing JBP to capture these gorgeous shots for you!
